Well, this was definitely a challenge considering I had none of the correct supplies. I couldn't find any acetate. My Walmart was out. I couldn't find a store that sells lumiere or pearl-ex. And to top things off no cuttlebug or similar machine. But I love the way the cards in the gallery looked and I am not one who gives up easily.
My substituted supplies were:
3 different iridescent fabric paints, a piece of clear plastic, and my paper crimper and cardstock.
I placed the paint on the plastic and while it was still wet smoosed it around and stuck a piece of white cardstock to the plastic. I let the paint on the plastic dry. Then I sent my plastic, paint, cardstock sandwich through my paper crimper. If my poor imitation looks like it does, the other cards done with the correct materials must be so shimmery you would need sun glasses to look at their beauty. To attach my embossed panel, I glued the back to my card and added a cardstock frame to better secure it. I added buttons, ribbon, a leaf, and a sentiment. I used the same three paints and did the fossilized stone technique and let it dry and then stamped on it. Let me know what you think of my card.

Well done for finding a way!! I think if I hadn't got just one embossing folder to try in the pasta machine, I would have given up - I'd never have throught of the crimper. It looks so lovely and shimmery with those lovely leafy colours.
