This is my card for WT178 and a Friday paper piecing challenge at Embellish-it Scrapbooking.
This is my story!
1. Well, I tried to combine two challenges. I was making a card for a paper piecing challenge at Embellish-it Scrapbooking and yesterday's Ways to Use it.
2. I had awesome rhinestones and was glueing them all the way around the scallops and came up about 4 short. Why didn't I count them before I started gluing them on? In order to get rid of the little spots where the paper pealed up I had to glue these little white sponged circles over them to cover up the ripped paper! So then I went to eyelets.
3. Then I thought oh no, now I am not using jewels so I had to think of another unusual embellishment so that is when I strung string through the eyelet holes! Oh brother!
4. Originally I had one bird on this card and I tried to stamp some words and messed them up big time so I had to add another bird to cover up a big blob of black ink.
5. Then I had to sprinkle fine glitter around the leaves because I needed to cover up little splotches of shiny glue!
6. It is amazing that I like this card as much as I do because its just a bunch of big mistakes....
I do love this awesome Basic Grey Boxer paper. Its from:

This must be a case of two (or more) wrongs making a right. This turned out very pretty despite all the problems you had with it. I congratulate you on your perseverance - I would have trashed it early on. I really like the layout on this. Very pretty. tfs

I was once told that the proof of a professional is the manner in which they correct/cover mistakes. Congratulations! It turned out to be a beautiful card despite the angst in creating it.

Cindy, this is GORGEOUS! You should never admit to all those 'mistakes'...they gave you a fantastic end product, and probably made you do things you wouldn't have thought of otherwise, right? ;) I love the eyelets and threading around the scalloped circle...awesome detail! tfs

Wow, looking at this beautiful card, one would never know it was started with mistakes. Love the eyelets with the string and the cut out vines.
Great job.
