Jacqueline is our Teapot Challenge hostess and we are sending cards to cheer Dawn Barrett aka dawnmercedes. We were challenged to case one of her cards and make sure to use pink in our design.
I thought Iâd celebrate the fact that Dawn is a licensed ham radio operator with this punny image that says, Ham Radio, Itâs a Contact Sport. This is the card I cased:
I followed her quilt card design to make a background for the fussy cut and popped up clipart image. I used a blending brush to ink up white cardstock with Rococo Rose and Peacock Feathers inks before overstamping images with black ink. Using a 1 inch square punch I made my quilt blocks to adhere to a gray cardstock panel. I embossed the inlaid panel with an embossing folder before matting with black and aqua cardstock panels.
Thank you, Jacqueline, for hosting! Dawn, it was lots of fun to look through your inspiring gallery. I hope you are feeling stronger each day.

You made a fabulous background for that fun clip art image. (I did a quilt of sorts card that I will send to Dawn.) Your colors are really pretty, Rita!
Your inlaid square look awesome!

Such a fun, punny card. I love that you went for something so personal to Dawn. She should get a big kick out of the image. Your quilt is wonderful with all the colors, patterns and the ef texture. I especially love the text in some blocks -- another form of communication. Fab idea -- Fab card.
