I prefer the word 'artful' to 'artsy'. To me, artsy diminishes the creation, makes it into something un-professional. So that's why I named it 'artful'.
I knew I probably had a background in my stash that I could use for today's doodling on watercolor. I don't know exactly what the background is but I know it's water soluble. Edged in gold rush ep, it has shimmer!
I don't always feel I have much success with doodling with gel pens, especially gold and silver. I don't think they show up very well. I decided to use a black Posca for my doodling and fill in with gold. I used four different Zentangle patterns: Bronx Cheer (raspberries!), Flux, Mooka and Pepper Tangleation. I finally designed a 'chop' for myself (lower right hand corner). It's a way of signing one's work.

Love your "artful" creation. The doodling is very professional making the card elegant and rich. I knew you would hit this out of the ball park with your style. Glad you came and played.

This is right up your alley (or street as some say)...your zentangle is always amazing and I love the gold over your "found" background. Your initial chop is very cool ;)
Hmm! I will have to remember that about the pens! I do have black. I wish I had thought of that. I don't feel comfortable calling your artwork a doodle. As you said about artsy and artful, I think I feel about the word doodle! This is a beautiful drawing!

I tend to agree with Angie - this is a beautifully structured art piece rather than a meandering doodle. Those pointy pieces that look like tiny beehives on a stick to me, make me smile - the shape is just so much fun!

I too love your beautiful piece of Art Jean. The doodling is amazing in its detail and I am loving your "chop". Had no idea that is what they were called!
