I made this card for the letter K alphabet challenge. Do you see the K in this card? It is for kitchen. I am a vegetarian so I spend a lot of time in my kitchen cutting, dicing, mincing and sauteing veggies. I have always wanted a colorful retro kitchen, but alas, I can have it in a card.
I stamped the stand mixer first so I knew where to place the upper shelf. Then I stamped the yellow bowl, masked it off, then masked off the top of the strawberry stamp and stamped the red part of each strawberry. Then masked off the red part of each strawberry and stamped the green top.
Die cut the utensils from white cardstock and colored with copic markers. Arranged them loosely on the card, then cut a thin strip of woodgrain designer paper and placed that loosely into place. Removed the woodgrain strip and stamped the upper items, then adhered the thin woodgrain strip into place. Then glued the utensils into place.
The sentiment is one long strip so I masked off the word love and stamped, then masked off the first two words and stamped the word love below the first line.
This was one of those cards that came together quite effortlessly and was a real joy to create. Thank you Ann for the letter K challenge and thank you for looking. ~Karen.

What drew me in was your combination of colors that certainly do add a real retro feel to this card, especially combined with kitchen elements, it is wonderful! I thought that it was SO inspired to use that strip of woodgrain DSP like a kitchen shelf, it works SO Well, and you use it below like a kitchen counter. I thought that this was absolutely WONDERFUL!!! It just exudes happiness, and a warmth from the past, and it's going into my favorites.
I hope that someday you will get your retro kitchen--spending so much time in there, you would enjoy it so much!!!
This is purely delightful and you really gave me some joy just seeing this absolutely wonderful card that also exudes a wonderful warmth from a kitchen in the past. It brought back memories of some neat kitchens like my paternal grandmother--who became very ill when I was 7, so my memories of her are limited, but I spent a lot of time in that kitchen through until 16. Really special memories that I wouldn't have had today without you, and that REALLY touches my heart, THANK YOU in a very VERY special way!!!
Blessings and again, my thanks, it takes a VERY SPECIAL ARTISTRY to be able to create such feeling in one's work, I am beyond impressed!!!

Absolutely wonderful retro kitchen look, Karen. I love that you go out of your way to state just how you created this fun kitchen card. I am sure I am not the only one who appreciates that you do this and do this so well at that! Ha, I do not have a kitchenaid mixer. They are available in so many beautiful colors, I would have a hard time choosing one. What a fun set this is and you have used it beautifully. Well done, my friend!

How very cool is your retro kitchen, and I so love the colors you used! My daughter lives many hours away and was able to spend 6 weeks here during the pandemic- she is vegetarian, and spends many hours chopping and cooking- and, Oh my the kitchen smells amazing when she is home!!! Your card is such a fun reminder of that for me!
