The kid next door is turning 16 this month. He was three when we moved in. Time flies! I had this idea in my head for his card and Carla read my mind and gave us a number challenge. I couldn't decide if I wanted to make him a car themed card or a hockey themed card, until I realized I could make him a card with a Bruins license plate on it. So I whipped up this license plate in Microsoft Word while looking at a Googled image of one. It was fun that I could put the month and year on it. So I printed the blank license plate out and then I reprinted just the year sticker on blue paper and glued it to the license plate. I cut the "JAKE 16" out of adhesive vinyl with my ScanNCut (Calibri font) and instead of using transfer tape, which is a bit too sticky for sticking to paper, I used washi tape for the transfer. Worked like a charm! The very last thing was this fake key that I've had for years. It came in some junk mail from a car dealer and you know I couldn't throw that out. I'm glad I kept it. It looks great on this card (and fits perfectly with the December Fan Club theme!).

So glad your thought waves came through to me, Jen!! Love your card, so creative and well executed and perfect for a 16 year old hockey fan. You thought so far ahead to save that key Thanks for playing in my challenge.

Always so creative, Jen, and so thoughtful to personalize a special card for your neighbor! I'm sure he will love and appreciate it! They do grow up so fast!
