Fridayâs Free For All Challenge, (F4A640...Holiday Card Show Off...12/14/1, was to show some of the cards made for the winter Christmas season. Perfect challenge!!!
This 5 x 7 sized card is larger than I usually make, but I needed it to accommodate the large tag that I had already stamped and die cut. This image panel was intended to be used as a tag, but when I received this handsome red/ecru Gingham paper in a recent order, I knew I wanted to pair them together in a card.
I sponged the colors onto the stamped panel to give it a soft, vintage feel. Unfortunately, the red ink from the sled migrated onto my sponge when I was doing brown ink on the barn...this explains the pinkish tone on the wood. Ugh! Note to self: when sponging, apply red ink last, not first!!!
I finished off the image panel and pine bough with some Nuvo Crystal Drops White Blizzard for a snowy sparkle and tied on some husky linen thread from Fun Stampers Journey and sponged the edges with Soft Wheat ink. This panel was popped up with foam tape on the back and added over top of the Gingham on the card front.
It was sweet of you to stop by and look at my vintage sled card. Warm winter wishes to you!

I love this beautiful card. I love the red/ecrue gingham paper. Gingham prints always make me think of warm hospitality. Too bad you mentioned your 'oopsie' as I thoght it was the faded red paint of the barn boards.

I'm really enjoying the country feel of your cards today. The sled is the kind my sister and I had as children and they just flew! I love gingham so of course, that panel really delights me!

I love how you’ve paired this with the red gingham!

Terrific image and the layout is wonderful too. I have some tag dies and rarely use them as I am always over thinking how to use them on cards. This is great.
