Time is flying by, it's hard to believe that this is the 4th Tuesday in May. The snow has finally stop falling here. I was finally able to begin planting some vegetables in my garden this weekend. So I went with the garden theme for my card this week. I thought this would be a very simple card to make but it wasn't. The only color that I had was old olive. I went through some old Stampin' Up! catalog looking for the color of watermelon and I think I was able to get close. I didn't have smoky slate but found a basic gray and a light gray scrap.
***Stef is the hostess this week and she picked:
Old olive
Watermelon
Smoky slate
Dessert is a die cut
I ended up with 15 cards that are similar some in colors and others in style. So a big shout out to Stef for kick starting me to make some useful cards for summer.
*****card recipe*****
I had some old royal fiber card stock left over from the last millennium. I combined that with an old 6 x 6 pad that was possibly a celebration choice and finally opened some craft ink pads that have to be at least 10 years old and maybe older. I ordered the entire set and they are still in the plastic in the original box. You can relate right???? Please tell me I'm not alone.
My card is 5 x 5, the corners were rounded using the We R Memories 1/2" Crop-A-Dile Corner Chomper. This is an easel card. I used the Aurelie Dutch shoes embossing folder and the technique of faux letter press. I used the old olive on the flat side of the folder, embossed, then heat embossed using clear embossing powder. I used a Vera mark marker on the shoes and Again heat embosses with clear.
The Ann-Ticipations apron was stamped in Old Olive Craft and embossed with clear. I had to fussy cut because I could get the SNC to pick it up. I added spare parts button brads and jute.
Stampendous seed background was stamped in Vera fine Smokey gray on royal fiber. I cut pieces of the image out with a stitched rounded rectangle china die. I sponged the edges with smoky gray.
The hello my name is, is a $1 stamp from Michaels and When I bought it I had no idea what I would use it on. Lol
The Dies were cut and sponged with the smoky gray.
-Impressions Obsession water can
-frantic Stamper garden tools cut in 2 colors and pieced together
As always I appreciated you comments. They make me a better crafter.
Happy Stamping Tonda

Oh, my goodness, Tonda! This card is filled with so many gorgeous elements! I love the beautiful apron with your name tag, buttons, twine, and the text element. The garden tools, watering can, and other labels are gorgeous. The Dutch shoes are fabulous and so perfect for the card! This is a fantastic easel card, Tonda! BTW, this weekend I found some SU ink pads with the plastic around them! So don't feel bad! LOL
