Kia has challenged us to use birds on our cards today. I decided to go with my favorite bird--the hummingbird. They'll be back up here in 2 1/2 months and I can't wait. I always feel like they fly over and say hi to me when they show up at my house, so I thought the "hello" sentiment was perfect for the hummingbird. We get the ruby throated hummingbirds here but I wanted to make this one different. I googled hummingbirds and used the photo to guide my coloring. The stamp is on a wooden block so I had to use my stamp-a-ma-jig for the stamping. I colored each individual section and spritzed with water and stamped. Then I colored a few little touches that I wanted to be crisp and didn't spritz. Finished with some details using Micron pen and then wrote out my sentiment using a tombow marker and my ExactlyWrite guide to make sure it was centered and straight.

Very vibrant colors on your hummingbird and good job with the writing of the sentiment. Such a pretty card. Like you, I am ready to see hummingbirds.

I love the colors!! Letting the hummer be the focus was such a good idea. I saw very few last year.....hope they will be back this year!!

What a glorious colored hummer - The ones I see in my garden are a mousy grey with brown spots and while they are interesting to watch, I would RELISH seeing something like this with the radiant iridescent colors!

So beautiful. I love the colors you have used here. I marked my calendar. May 2nd last year was the first sighting. I have several hummingbird feeders that I put out. One is on my kitchen window. I have some very beautiful photos and videos. The males are prettier than the female. I even have a picture of one sitting on a nest. It was taken at our place in Maine. Amazing, just like your card.

Your "HELLO" looks like it's stamped to me, Jenn. ; ) Beautiful colors on your hummer, and I know what using the positioning tool is all about....since I needed mine on Saturday-big time~
