Cathy's challenge to us today was to use stars on our cards. You know how I get all twisted up with too general a challenge. Where to start with this one?
Fortunately, my newest endeavor is to make anniversary cards out of people's wedding invitations. I am a bit of a hoarder and can't seem to throw out wedding invitations, birth announcements, or really hardly anything that anyone sends me. But I've decided that this year those wedding invitations are going to be recycled into anniversary cards and mailed out.
This card is going to my friends Jess and Steve. The first layer with the hearts is their wedding invitation. The picture is from the thank you card that they sent me.
Still, the challenge was tough because I'm not inclined to put stars on cards. I wasn't sure I liked this card until I put it all together with the stars popped up with some loose gold cord behind them and a gold edge to the shimmery paper. I think I would've liked it better if I hadn't put the sentiment on an angle, but I can never get that stamp straight, so I just went with intentionally crooked. I should have just used my Stamp-a-ma-jig, but I was being lazy.
