I started out thinking, there is no way to make a card with red, orange and green....
Then I started with the stenciled background using modeling paste, and sponging with this week's colors. Then despite using a butterfly for last week's color challenge I went ahead with butterflies again (different dies).
Once I started putting it all together, it suddenly became a memorial card. The Cherry cobbler butterfly represents my son Matthew who was 17 when he passed away 6 1/2 years ago. The Tangelo Twist butterfly represents my dear friend Jennifer's mom who was in her young 60s when she passed away 1 1/2 years ago. Jennifer and I will always have a special bond as we were there for each other during these challenging times. Sending this card to Jennifer this memorial day weekend with a special note.
These beautiful colors, which seemed so impossible at first, ended up being a beautiful, tear-jerking card!
Love you Matthew and Barb!

Wow - what a powerful and sweet story of how this wonderful card evolved. Isn't it the best when we can create out of heart and it because therapy and comfort. Super cool textures, colors, and design. Wonderful card! Hugz

Your bg is so Beautiful for your pretty butterflies! I'm so sorry for your loss and your friend's loss, but I'm so glad that you were able to take a difficult combination of colors and create a touching memorial from them~

Heartbreaking to lose a child so young . . . . but a beautiful tribute . . . I like your use of butterflies - for me they have always represented the soul flying heavenward and I almost always use them on this type of card. great bg with the modeling paste.
