Time to tickle a Teapotter! Polly's our hostess and she's all about the Wizard of Oz. My inspiration was that marvelous transition to color. That was such a novelty for us back then! My card is also for Monday's Try a New Technique, Pencil Me In.
Dorothy is from an online coloring page. I printed the page as lightly as possible, sketched over the lines, added some shading with a sepia pencil and fussy cut. I followed the Magic Card tutorial. Image was colored with alcohol markers, chalk and ink. The yellow brick road was created using the TH burlap stencil. Stamped sentiment and adhered Dorothy to frame to complete. TFL
Edited: My image panel kept sticking so I disassembled the card and added shims between the layer. Of course, I made a mess of the original cardbase at that point. The new one has an embossed frame to give it a little extra touch.

Carla this is FANTASTIC!! I love the scene and you're so creative to use the black and white to color theme. I love Dorothy on the side looking down the road and that saying is wonderful! Really fun...someone is going to be very lucky to get this in the mail ;)

Well, I'm not surprised we both had the same idea - it seemed like a sure thing for the challenge story. And what a fabulous magic card - the pencilled Dorothy is perfect for the TLC as well as the B&W part of the magic card. The scene opens up all sorts of possibilities in the imagination, especially paired with that sentiment.

Wow, Carla!!! Your cards are astonishing! What a remarkable combination of both challenges. Dorothy is penciled in so beautifully in the black and white, and the transition from black and white to color is absolutely outstanding!! The coloring is very striking! Super work, Carla!!!
