For today's MIX83 Naturally Elements from Janelle.
Looking at this I think I need to add just a hint of gold glitter to the sentiment. But this is my second card, since the first one ended up in the bin beyond redemption, and I've run out of time to take another photo.
I went with earth tones...
First I took some textured card and just rubbed chalk pastels in various earth tones across it, blending them together a bit, and sprayed with fixative. It was too strong, so I gessoed it, and then stamped it with IO Distress in Walnut Stain. Then I embossed it with a woodgrain ef and wiped over the embossed area with Old Paper. I stamped the sentiment and a shadow leaf in dark grey. Sponged the edges with Forest Moss and wrapped some Mizuhiki cord around it. I added some clear Dew Drops, with a tiny sprinkle of gold glitter on the Glossy Accents before I stuck them down, and some gilding flakes.
Base is sponged with Vintage Photo distress stain.
Leaf tutorial is pretty much THIS ONE though this time I didn't edge it with gold - sometimes I do. Instead I sprinkled a little gold glitter over the last layer of UTEE.
I crumpled the leaf (cut from watercolour paper) before misting, and then used Scattered Straw, Forest Moss, Spiced Marmalade and Fired Brick re-inkers. I stamped it with Weathered in Walnut Stain before adding the layers of UTEE.
Not sure how I feel about this. I had fun, but my desk is a total mess and it's certainly not what I was imagining.
Have a good holiday weekend, all those celebrating Labor Day on Monday ~ travel safely and enjoy some family time.

Well you may not be sure, Sabrina, but I truely love your creation. Boy did you capture the feel of a gorgeous fall day. Mixed media can sometimes get cluttered. Although you used a lot of techniques and different mediums, the card still has a CAS feel. Beautiful colors. It's a keeper.

These MIX challenges were made for YOU, Sabrina....you do them SO SO well. Love the texture of the boards and the shine of the dewdrops. Really lovely opposites of textures to give added interest.
