This is for two challenges and I am late for both!
First Irishgreensue gave us a challenge to make a card that had something to do with childhood memories and to tell a story about it.
Well as a young teenager I spent a lot of time in West Palm Beach with my Grandma. She had a boyfriend who was the captain of a yacht owned by Armand Hammer ( the baking soda guy ). They had a French chef who had a seal as a pet. We went all up and down the coast of Fla in the ocean and the Intercostal waterway. We would drop the anchor and the seal and I would go swimming. It was a blast. Then I would climb back up the ladder to get on the boat and so would the seal. It was the funniest thing to watch. I did not know what a wonderful experience these years would be. I got to go all around the Caribbean and spent a lot of time in Miami off and on. I wish I could do it all over again as a child with my Grandma.
The second challenge was the Technique challenge which was to make a card using no stamps. This paper is old. I don't know what company made it but I have used some in the past and hoarded a couple of pieces. My c/s is SU Pool Party and Bermuda Bay. I used the Romantic Rectangles from SB which I love.
Thanks for both challenges.

What a beautiful card, Silly, I love the color and the dies. I just made a card last night with those dies. Wow, what a special childhood memory you have, out cruising on a yacht. Now that is the life and a chef to fix you yummy meals. Glad you had those wonderful times with your grandma and thanks, for sharing it with us. Hugs.

Wow, Sylvia, what a fantastic memory!! To be able to go on a yacht and sail all up and down the coast of Florida, the Intercoastal waterway, and the Caribbean must have been like heaven for you!! Diving in the water with a seal playing with you was probably like a dream - they are so fun to watch at play!!
Love those Romantic Rectangles - I still NEED them! your old world looking DP is awesome and looks so lovely framed on the Bermuda Bay layer behind. This is one classy card, and I am glad it brought back wonderful memories of time with your Grandma!! HUGS!

OM - you did have some wonderful childhood experiences Sylvia. Sounds like it would make a great movie - a girl, a seal, pretty water and beaches, then there could be a mystery you solve, or they could find some treasure and pirates kidnap the seal - LOL! Seriously, that is an absolutely wonderful story. Sounds like you had the coolest Grandparents and how wonderful to have been around a seal like that. Love the paper and the card and the story! Hugz!

WOW...that is some memory and some "life experience", Sylvia. Did A Hammer keep any of his Faberge items on board?....he was known for his fabulous collection. Your card is beautiful and I love the "Florida colors"...aqua and coral.
