Okay, can I just say that to say I struggled with this challenge is the understatement of the entire year of 2010, and 2009, and 2008, and 2007, and so on. HOLY CANOLLI I am FREAKIN EXHAUSTED!!! I have been working on this ONE CARD since the challenge came up EARLY......and it has evolved, from ugly, to uglier, to BUTT UGLY, and now, finally, to I am happy with it almost, either that or I am just so tired I don't CARE ANYMORE. For laughs, I am going to link this to one of the monsters I created before this one. YOu will all know that I am not exaggerating it was the ugliest card i have ever MADE!!!! HERE is the picture I took, hoping it would be one of those cards that looked better in the pic then it did in real life, but alas, I could not decide which way it looked uglier. Here is the one I am speaking of. Sorry guys, I TRIED to link it but remember, I am also computer and technology challenged,,,,,so I cannot show you my monster card you will just have to take my word for it. ;)
Thank Goodness I did not give up because that would have been one UGLY addition to my gallery. Here is why I was so BENT ON MAKING A CARD TONITE. Vicki, Mary, and Joanne, as well as Betty are DEAR SCS friends, and I SO wanted to play in the color challenge for which they are designers.... but fell asleep early last night...so decided and contemplated all day long combining these challenges. I have come to the conclusion that though I love blushing bride and I love baja breeze, for me, I am nevah, evah, evah, evah try to combine them again. I cannot make something pretty with them. Although in the past I think I have, - it's just tonite - nothing worked for me. Look at that linked card(NOT!! I AM SO LAME) and tell me it's not ugly. LOL......it is SO UGLY. Bwahahahaha.....anyway- this one is not so shabby. Hope you like it, and Mary, Vicky, Joanne and Betty, I love you guys!! This one's dedicated to you guys!! I worked hard to play in the challenge that you four ROCKED!!!! The end of my long and sad story. Bwahhahahahahaaa..

This one looks so pretty! I can't imagine you making an ugly card. For the color challenge, I really struggled w/ those colors. Not really a pastel person. I think the black mats in your card really make it stand out.

Anyone would be happy to receive this card! But more than that - you made my night - today is one of those days - a seemingly impossible combination for client workshop request has left my table covered in scraps and mee sitting here looking to you for inspiration. To know that Karen Barber has trouble sometimes, too, makes me want to go over and clean my table to start again. Thanks for exposing your self-doubt, however unfounded!

I came to a decision after starting to do the TLC challenge, I would attempt every week, I would put set amount of time into it, I would upload the finished product NO MATTER WHAT. This rule came after one challenge I spent 4 hours on and wasn't happy, like you I tinkered, still not happy I tinkered some more. Unlike you after all my tinkering I was never happy so I decided to move on. Yours has a happy ending, this card is beautiful.

I think this is beautiful, Karen and your other card isn't bad either. I think we just get our brains in a state of stress after we work on something too long.

I agree, the black framing has really made the pastel colors striking! Beautiful embossing, and I like the little button/tag.
You know when you finish a card and get that feeling of yeah, can't believe I made that, sort of a creativity adrenaline rush??? - well, I sure don't get that every time either!!!
