Quilts and buggies were a common sight as I grew up in rural northeastern Ohio. Many ladies, including my grandmother and mother, spent many hours piecing and quilting fabric. On Sunday morning, the clippety clop of horses' hooves could be heard as the local Amish travelled down our road to meet in someone's home for their church service. So this is how I came about combining the F4A challenge to incorporate a quilt theme on a card with Stef's inspiration challenge to create something related to the history of our home town - past or present. I cut 1 1/4 inch strips then stitched them together on a white CS base (5 inch square). I layered 2 circle Nesties and stamped the buggy image using VersaFine ink. I just had to add a pop of color, so played with some new PTI dies to create the flower and leaves. I look forward to seeing others' creations from their home towns. It's always interesting to me to find out where people's roots are from. It helps explain why they've sprouted in the direction they're in - lol!

Beautiful combination of the challenges - what a perfect match they are! I love the image and the gorgeous flower and ribbon. I can really hear those horses hooves clopping by on a Sunday morning!

I have this stamp too and almost used it for the Pennsylvania Dutch, but I saw your beauty and decided to go in another direction. Yep, Ohio, is Pennsylvania Dutch (Amish) country too and your inspired card is perfect!

LOVE it.....great card and wonderful for the inspiration....
I live in the heart of Mennonite country here in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. I have a small collection of quilts and on any given day the horse and buggies are trotting down the street past my house. Just a few miles away is the town of St. Jacobs known for it's quilts, Mennonite market, and of course maple syrup. I love watching the quilt making...so creative. tfs.....
