Joan B started a thread ( Forums at Splitcoaststampers ) about how nonstampers perceive trends that stampers usually embrace. I found it very interesting that some things I don't usually do (inking edges, making things crooked, lumpy-bumpy-hard-to-mail, etc.) are not very popular among nonstampers of Joan's acquaintance. So I decided to play with some of those very things to make a Christmas card in a style that is VERY different for me, because I'm a rebel that way.
I realized I could have distressed the edges just as I was gluing the tree down. Darn.
I really do think this looks totally dirty (there are maybe five cards in my really big gallery that have inking on them, and I was deliberately sloppy here!), but otherwise, it's fine with me.

Whew! You got it out of your system! And your card looks mighty fine! I try the trendy stuff, but usually go back to CAS for cards I plan on actually giving to someone. Thanks for sharing!

I don't care for the inked look, and my customers and family think a card looks dirty if I do it! ;) Glad you were able to get this out of your system. Now back to our regularly scheduled program...

I think it's great...I was never very good at those fiskars shape cutters. I couldn't even cut a simple circle...and when I started using punches and nesties...the shape cutters went to the store for demo. I think I'll have to try a dirty lumpy card just for fun.
