This was a great suggestion by Mamalanie as an alternative to the Word Search background. Go to http://puzzlemaker.school.discovery....SetupForm.html and type in the words you want in the puzzle. It will create the puzzle for you. I made this card for my father-in-law who turns 70 this week. Rather than circle the hidden words, I've attached the list of words he needs to find. Included in the list are his name, seventy, happy, birthday, smile, celebrate, and joy. I tried using colors similar to the sample card in the SU catalog for the Word Search background.
