I'm late to the IC challenge today as I was at my grandnephews 6th b'day party - but I was inspired by Audrie's challenge - For the Love of Letterpress. I have used my embossing folders before to achieve a 'letterpress likeness' (as well as imitating Belleek) - and was excited to try it again!
As I flipped through my embossing folders - this Tall Pines one from Tim Holtz caught my eye as I'm always trying to get my Christmas cards done early so I can enjoy the holiday! So then I went looking through my stamps and found my O Holy Night set from Papertrey Ink.
Even though a true letterpress (I think) should have the color on the recessed image - I liked the trees when I inked the front of the folder (with Antique Linen Distress Ink) so the background was slightly colored and the trees were raised and un-inked - so that is how I made my card today. Like this card in Audrie's pinterest gallery.
So thank you again, for inspiring me today Audrie! I ended up making 6 cards similar to this - some without inking the embossing folder at all - and using a few different sentiments from the O Holy Night stamp set.

Love how your lightly coloured background makes those trees seem laden with snow! Love the sentiment too! Kudos to getting a Christmas card done. Every little one helps! :-)

'Late' is never an issue .... But I'm so glad we didn't miss out on this beautiful card, Julia!
I'm just now getting back home ... doubtful that stamping can occur on this date for me. LOL I'll make self content browsing. ;)
