Taking a break from Christmas cards with one to start my valentine stash. Carey mentioned her sketch was an inspired retro-look of a Polaroid. I wanted a more contemporary look, so I elongated the panel #3 and used the die cut word to shorten it into her square shape of #2. The partial heart was free-handed with Brushos....using them as one would traditional tube watercolors. I didn't want a complete heart.

The partial heart creates such a wonderful effect, Sallie, and that's a beautiful die cut. The ombré stripes in the background look wonderful, and I love the colors!

this is stellar, Sallie...love everything about it from the measured stripes and big die cut, to that Ah~mazing free form heart...just like love, too big to hold inside. You inspire me to take risks with 'real' artists tools...crossing my fingers Brushos will be in my Christmas stocking...

Sallie, you are one of the most creative. "out of the box" card makers I know! This is exceptional! Love the watercolor partial heart as well as the subtle gradient in your background paper. Outstanding in craftsmanship and design!

Sallie, this watercolour is beautiful. One could look at it for a long time and see different things. Yes, I can see a heart, but I can also see angel wings and the flight of a cardinal. The die cut sentiment is just perfect here, leaving the focus on the painting.

Your heart is definitely noticeable, Sallie. Beautiful in the different shades; actually, quite Stunning! It looks Gorgeous inside the "window" frame, and your sentiment confirms the way you are feeling to the recipient!
