This is my card for Faith's fun Monster Mash Tickle a Teapotter challenge this week. I don't normally make Halloween cards, but I certainly had great fun making this, and it was a bonus when it worked out first time round and didn't require a prototype and more work!
I more of less used the diorama tutorial in Resources, but made mine 5 1/2" square; it's 2" deep as per the tutorial.
I used black card for the front and back pieces, and green for the centre.
The front is cut as a frame 3/4" wide all round, but I added a piece of embossed and sanded green Core'dinations for the foreground.
For the green middle piece, I cut the sides and top at 3/4" to match the front, but free-handed a curved line a little higher than the front.
Each layer is decorated as follows:
For the back, I used Brushos, and then added some stamped bats and a punched moon.
For the middle layer, I added some embossed vellum to look like mist (the only thing I wish I'd done differently is use thinner vellum), and added two bare IO trees, one behind the misty vellum, one in front. I added some little pumpkins under the trees, and one of the ghosts (white heat-embossing on vellum).
For the front, I added one of the houses from Holiday Home, coloured with pencils, a black fence (Memory Box), a pumpkin (part of Midnight, from Purple Onion; I seem to have quite a shortage of pumpkin stamps), and a RAK black cat from IO. I added silver stars to finish it off, and a sentiment stamped on a cut-off strip of the Brusho background.
As Halloween will be over when I send this, I'm not sure whether to change the sentiment? Opinions?? I've kept a little strip of the Brusho background in case I need to put in something else, even just "Thinking of You".
Thanks for such a fun challenge, Faith. You took me right out of my comfort zone but I love this card and wish I could keep it, LOL.
Sorry, the fence got a little bent taking the photo. I was waiting today in the hopes of a brighter day - ha!! So I had to use flash and my big camera that I take my glasses off when I am using...

I've been sitting here admiring your diorama for about five minutes. It's perfect--you have all the elements for a spooky night; and mist is such a nice Irish touch. Making the ghosts from vellum was such a brilliant idea.

Sabrina, this is a fantastic diorama card. Love the dimension and all of the different images. Super scene. Your Dad had a great idea with the skeleton, such fun that would have been. Thanks for taking part in the challenge. TFS

Oh, Sabrina, how cool is this! The diorama was a wonderful idea for building your scene. I love the idea of using the vellum for mist - so creative!
