I made this card a while back for a friend who needed a little pick me up.
The lion stamp is from Art Impressions, LOVE there stamps! I had no plan when I started this card and just went for it. Coloured the image with markers and pencils. I knew I wanted the sentiment coming thru the card as if it was ripped. I curled the ripped pieces on a toothpick and distressed the edges. Printed the sentiment and placed it in the ripped opening. Still the card needed a bit more texture.
So I crumbled up a piece of boring brown wrapping paper, flattened it out again and went over it with TH Distress ink brown.
Placed some eyelets on the left with a piece of raffia string. Googly eyes on the lion and the card is finished!

What a clever card! The crumpled inked brown paper makes an awesome background and having the sentiment showing through the card is brilliant. Great use of the raffia too!

Thanks Ladies, so sweet of you to comment on my card.
As for the colouring....uh...not quiet sure what to say, I see so much better work from other crafters with the whole shading thing, but I'm learning as I go.

Thanks Lisa, so sweet of you to comment.
As for the BG some times it's the cheapest things that can make a difference. I had so much DP to choose from to put behind the image but still ended up with a piece of paper that I would have tossed away. Go figure.
