Well, if this doesn't embarrass me, nothing will!!! I honestly had no idea what I was doing, and I did have a lot of trouble. I am hoping that by posting this, I may get some answers and constructive criticism.
1) I tried on watercolor paper and I couldn't get the reverse image to come - is that expected?
2) How do you blend your main image into your mirror image when there is no ground or anything -- it looked terrible -- that's why I put the hemp.
3) How do most of you transfer the mirror image -- I had difficulty -- I had the best luck with acetate.
I guess this just takes practice, but I'd sure like to learn -- this is my first attempt (obviously -- ha ha!!!).

well..I think it looks terrific! Love that hemp in the middle to split the two up...looks very nautical. You did a good job. I haven't tried this on watercolor paper, so not sure how to help there. Looks great though!

I think you did a great job! I didn't even bother trying (too much to do to catch up on my out of control scrapbooks!)...I think its wonderful and the hemp is a nice touch...goes well with the theme of the card! Wish I had answers for you...maybe once I crawl out of my photo rubble I can give it a try myself!!! TFS

You're definitely too hard on yourself! I love this and think you did a great job; having not tried the technique yet, I'm afraid I cannot offer any criticism, only praise!

It looks wonderful. No one would ever have known that it wasn't exactly how you meant it to come out. I personally have never tried the reflection technique, but I'm sure it just takes practice like anything else, and you have made an excellent start! Amy

this is fabulous..........what I did for mine...since it was water, was to ink a part of a beach scene so there was something for the image to reflect into and so that there was some type of a dividing line between the images....but....honesly I like the use of the fibers cuz they really go with your image

I think that this looks great! You are definately too hard on yourself.
I have never tried the technique myself but I have purchased a "mirror image" rubber stamp from Joann's recently  . It literally is just a rectangle stamp that has the words mirror image on it. It may be easier to use this than acetate (but what do I know...I haven't done the technique yet). I also heard that the one set that was retired this last catalog (Great Shapes?) that had the large rectangle block was also perfect for this technique.
You've inspired me to take a stab at the technique sometime this week. We'll see what I manage to come up with.

Well, your first attempt looks awesome, but I have the best of luck stamping on vellum! You stamp on the front, then turn it over and stamp it upside down on the backside. Works like a charm!
