Of all the folders (believe it or not), this one really had me stumped. When you think of houndstooth, you think of dark colors, fall attire, perhaps a masculine flavor. After coloring up a few samples on dark colored paper, I decided to do the houndstooth in pink!! I felt it would be a fair companion to the little boy card I did a couple of days ago. As with the other samples this week, I decided to use chalks - even for the little girls dress. I wanted the card and images to appear soft and I think thatÂ’s an easy order to fill with chalks. Again, for the clean simple look I used Fabriano Acquerello watercolor paper layered with a pink metallic cardstock. I used another Fiskar border to make the top seem like a lacy valance and embellished with small white pearls and finally, ribbon.

So sweet! I JUSt got my Houndstooth folder and thought it would make such a pretty soft look for baby cards! Look what a lovely job you did with it!! It's just perfect!

A fabulous baby girl card! I have the houndstooth folder too and I love the effect you got with chalks. You can really tie a bow too, wish I could do that. The ribbon is lush as is the wonderful punched border and pearls. Beautiful!

So sweet. The houndstooth is the perfect BG for this card...never would have thought it. The chalk on top softens it beautifully. Love all the other embelishments you chose. TFS!
