I had to make ATCs on a Summer Fun theme.
I grew up within earshot of the sea, so summer means the sea to me still. It's the first time I've done an edition, it really felt like cheating but it was the only way to get them posted off in time.
I stamped the Hero Arts image and coloured it with watercolour pencils.
Then I added a whole load of texture - I used the sand from Shore Thing with Versamark and chalked it. I used clear micro-beads for surf. I used dimensional 3D paint for the clouds, and a Sakura stardust pen for for the sails. I sanded some clear shrink plastic and stamped it with the sandpipers from Shore Thing, and shrank it. To finish off, I sponged the edges with ColorBox Pigment ink, and added a sentiment from Pink Cat Studio.
I used my Sakura Quickie pen for the beads at first, but even though I worked really quickly so I was applying the beads while the glue should have permanent, I found they rubbed off. So I had to rub the whole lot off and start again with clear-drying PVA. Better I found it out than the people I'm swapping with, especially given half of them are going State-side.

I love the beads for the surf, the chalk with Versamark for the sand, and the shrink plastic for the birds. This is a great composition with lots of detail.
