This is my card for IC137. I think I should have given up before I started, but I was really inspired by the outhouse because of all the childhood memories it brought back. Trouble is, I don't have an outhouse stamp OR a rooster stamp. BUT, I have the real thing! Built by my father in the 40s. When we sold the old homestead, DH with a capitol D loaded up the old john on a trailer and brought it home for me. Now it's a garden shed at the edge of the woods in our yard.
Only who takes pictures of an outhouse and the sun just would not come out today. I DID finally get a picture and tried to make memories of a nice summer day because most of the memories I have are the cold winter ones.
I printed the picture on white cardstock, distressed it, inked the edges, cut out some extra lilies and popped them up with Zots.
Background is some unknown gold paper which I cuttlebugged with Swiss Dots and stamped with Inkadinkado Clear Stamps. I used the dragonfly because I didn't have a fly stamp.
I added the denim with brads because I thought it needed something.

This is extraordinary. I am so impressed with your story: I know it's not the kind of thing most people want from their parents' home, but oh, you still have something your dad built from the 40's - how wonderfully special is that! I think it looks just fabulous in your photo! wow, love the depth and texture of your card. It's just wonderful especially knowing the background of your treasure! What a perfect garden shed!

What a great card. I'm sure your DH got some interesting looks as he carted the old outhouse down the road. This card is just so personal. I really love it. And in my opinion, daylilies make anything beautiful. tfs

I like the denim and sure wish I hadn't thrown out DH's pant legs when I made them into shorts a few weeks back.
Great take on the challenge with your scenery!

My uncle had some land when I was a little girl, and I remember the old outhouse! This sure brings back many memories for me as well! Love your story, your card, and your DH for doing that for you!
