Thanks Anne for a great challenge that brought back wonderful memories! The summer before I turned 16, a very long time ago, I spent a month with a friend on my Step-Grandma's farm in Nebraska. We had a blast to say the least! Helped gather eggs, feed the chickens, stack bales of hay, and lots of other "fun" farm chores!
This IC reminded me of her wash tubs. She really did wash clothes in them, wringer and all! I put flowers in mine. She also had lots of chickens and roosters that wondered around everywhere. I learned to drive a stick shift out by the corn field, only I sort of drove over my uncle's green beans before I got the hang of it! LOL
For this scene, I did a faux wood for the porch floor, scored the planks for the siding. Stamped and colored my tub. Cut it out and popped it up on front.
Stamped the big tree. Cut out an oval. Stamped the rooster and chickens, colored and cut out. Put the rooster on the porch, and fed the chickens some of my birdies bird food.
What a blast from the past here! TFL :0)

It's it fun when one of our memories creates a new something. You brought your step-grandmother's farm back to life in your card. Love the wooden floor!

A glorious creation, Cathy and I've lost count of how many WOW's this one gets! Love all the detail of the scored siding and planked verandah, the wonderful stamped images, so perfectly coloured and that great popped up wash tub of flowers. Most of all, I love your story. How lovely and poignant and I'm so glad this challenge brought back such a happy memory to you. Funny how card making does that but I love it.

how very creative--love that your card reflects fun summer memories--we have a Chinese student (13 years old)here with us right now and I am hoping that he takes back with him some fun summer memories too--summers are great for creating those memories that last a life time. Love your porch and siding--love the lone chick on the porch and the seeds that you added for embellishments--great work!!

Oh Cathy, I just dont know where to begin: I love your scored siding and porch deck! It's just totally awesome, my friend. Your oval is wonderfully large enough to accommodate your front porch and that tree is simply fabulous. Girl, you need to quit the day job (tell DH you're outta there) and develop a business plan to tell your talents where they belong: the world! Too wonderfully fabulous is this! WhoHoo!

Cathy this is fantastic. I love all those special memories. The tree on this is fantastic. I love how it is cut out and hangs over your chickens. The washing tub is soo great. I cannot even imagine doing laundry that way. This is precious. Great memories. TFS
