I got my inspiration from a thank you note we received after hosting a party. Using a water pen and ink pads,(Barely Banana, Almost Amythist, Cool Caribbean, Tempting Turquoise, Creamy Caramel, Sahara Sand, Close to Coco) I masked off areas as I painted following the design on the thank you note. I used water color paper which really made painting easier. I used many of the techniques I've learned from Michelle Zindorf; for example, using the white Segno Gell pen to make the surf foam. After water coloring I cut the scene out with Creative Memories Oval Patterns and blades. Then stamped Inkadinkado's shell on water color paper, colored with markers then cut it out. The shell is mounted with pop dots. Light turguoise CS seemed too stark for the softness of the water color scene, so to soften it I stamped is with the sand stamp from Shore Thing (which I use a lot) and sponged the edges with Creamy Caramel. I also sponged the edge of the water color paper with Close to Coco. Used Craft CS for the card base. Wrapped it up with a length of net looking ribbon from Fiber Accents and a scrap piece of turguoise ribbon. Showed this to my DH and he asked me what a mountain was doing in the middle of an ocean. Any body with an artistic eye can tell that's an island!!! I'm not speaking to him right now. But it does look like a mountain........WHAT EVER!!!

It's a mountainous island!! I thought that right away! Reminds me of pictures of Hawaii; they are islands with mountains, right? Anyway, it looks lovely. Great job with the watercoloring!!

Phyllis, this is breath taking! I love your watercoloring and the scenery you create! Better get that Man some glasses! Lol- I mean when you start talking to him again. (Is the WWW Man keeping you company?) Love the shell too and your bit of turquoise ribbon. Beautiful.
