This cake slice was inspired by the challenge for today. I found a template at the Better Homes and Gardens website. But I actually cased the method for making it from badsherry. Here is her cake slice Favor Trio Cake Slice by BadSherry at Splitcoaststampers
I made my cake slice box 3 inches tall instead of 2 inches because I wanted to show more of the "icing". The cake I loved was the one with the circles and that was what I originally intended - to make a slice of that cake. But... Once again the moving gremlins have hidden ALL of my circle punches. I mean they have got to be kidding! I just keep hoping they'll bring them back. So I had to improvise and decided I wanted to make butterflies instead with my new Martha Stewart punch - the scale was right. So I layered all the punched shapes and then cut them even with the sides of the slice after I adhered them. I added teh 3 rows of Bella Bling and then made the butterfly trio decoration for the top with my CB butterfly duo. Oh yeah, before I made the lid I CB'd the paper. Oh yeah, before I adhered the butterfly icing I put the "jam" between the cake layers by double layering 2 types of ribbon. The last thing I did was add the bow and put it on a plate with a fork to take the picture.
I loved this challenge and I could have gone on and on. Thanks to badsherry for giving the method for how to make the box. I used her method rather than BHG's becaus I have no access to a photocopier today.
Hope you like the cake! TFL
