I made this card for the weekly challenge at Paper Pretties. This was PWC11 and it was a sketch challenge. For this card, I tried 2 different techniques for the first time....one being the 'spirelli technique (aka string art) and the other being simply cutting a few designs from the pattern paper and attaching them underneath the ribbon layer to give a 3 dimensional effect....i don't know if there is a name for this, I just thought it might work, decided to give it a try, and actually liked the final out-come. The cups in the main image are also stamped a second time, colored and cut out, then added to the main image using dimensionals.
I used one strand of gold embroidery thread for the 'spirelli' technique...if you look closely, you will notice I skipped one of my scallops, but didn't notice this until I had already attached the image to the card....I'm not about to tear it apart to fix the mistake, so the mistake stays! Since this was my first attempt doing this technique, I think it turned out well and I'm definitely going to be doing more of this!
Thanks,
