Todays challenge really inspired me to make a card that I have been wanting to make for awhile now.
A friends daughter is going through some really tough times, divorce, miscarriage, problems at work and financial problems to the point that she has become very depressed and feels that her life has no meaning and she should not be here any longer.
The saying on this card front says "Soul Paintigs" and I did the card in her favorite colors. On the inside I have listed all the great accomplishments she has had in her life since childhood to the present - These are her "soul paintings" and I have reminded her that a true artist will sometimes get in a rut and feel that there is no reason to continue with a project because it is just not they way they want it to be, but after awhile the artist will get some inspiration and go back to the painting and add to it, or sometimes take away from it, and then is able to see the Masterpiece that he set out to create.
For the image, I used alcohol inks to make the background and then stamped the image in Staz-On ink. I used a silver leafing pen to go around the edge of the image and also the top layer of the card to show that there is a Silver lining to her life. The tulle that is interwoven is intended to be a rope for her to keep "hanging on".

This is one of the most beautiful cards I have ever seen and one of the most beautiful stories i've ever heard. It really touched me and I'm sure it'll deeply touch your friend's daughter as well. I just love what you did to the image, the background and the embellishments/ribbon. Unbelieveably great job!

what an inspiration this card is and will be for the daughter! It is full of great elements that hopefully will inspire her and be a reminder of all she has accomplished and what she has still to achieve! I love the details you have written about.

I am speechless!!! This is the most touching, inspirational tribute to your friend I could ever imagine! Not only is the image beautiful, but the story behind it adds so much more that I can't begin to describe. You are a blessing to her, and hopefully you can help pull her through these tough times. This is one amazing creation - WTG!!
