These are great! I would love to try this for my DD's teachers. Can you help? Where do you get the "tumbled tiles"... just a hardware store? You mentioned yours are not sealed... should they be? If so, how do you seal them?

Hi! The tumbled tiles can be found at any home improvement store like Lowe's or Home Depot. Sometimes they are called raw tiles. For this you just want to make sure you don't get ceramic (the slick) tiles. Just stamp your image in staz-on and color with sharpies. Because both inks are permanent, they won't run, so you don't have to seal them. If you seal them, the tile won't absorb moisture from the drink. I have some I've made that I had to seal because I used Stampin' Write markers, but they don't absorb the condensation and that totally bugs me.
If you decide to make some without coloring in using permanent ink, you can seal them with Krylon Fixatif. I found mine at Hobby Lobby in the Fine Art section. I think it was around $7. Just a quick spray is all you need.
I hope this helps! Let me know if you need more info! Tumbled tiles are one of my faves. Oh, others may have another way of doing these; there are some who use Fabrico markers. I just don't have any and don't know if that should be sealed or not.

THANK YOU for taking the time to describe it... I'm ready now to try this! Seriously, I appreciate your explanation. Now I just have to get the tiles, sharpies and stazon! lol

It is definitely worth the small investment. Plan out the design and test the sharpies on paper first; sometimes their color is a little dark. I have "tapped" the color on in small sections and then smeared with a Q-tip in order the make the color a little lighter. I'd love to see what you make! Be sure to share!

Use your blender pens with the Sharpies! I just hold my Sharpie with one hand and touch the tip of my blender onto the Sharpie tip then color! I feel I have more control as the colors don't get so vivid and you get a beautiful look. You can always go darker this way! Sharpie has all of those wonderful earth tone colors out now... they are beautiful!
