I made this for LSC173 - it's NOT hip to be square.
I went through several ideas, but I have too many cards I have made for challenges that I wouldn't use because they are not me, so I wanted to make something I could use. I thought about hats, houses, flowers. Then I decided to do a fish. When I was very small I had a clear plastic ball filled with liquid and little beads and a red fish a bit like this. After it broke I had him for years, but he probably never moved with me when I left home.
I cut a standard-sized card with the fold on the left narrow edge, and cut my fish from that. I painted the head and tail with Iridescent Gold H2Os, to give a sheen and still leave the red colour. Then, sticking with punching after the card I did for Beate's inspiration challenge this week, I punched LOADS of circles. I used 3 fancy Clairefontaine Papers of the World papers and some gold. I glued all of these down in rows. The fins were made with trimmings from the card, again painted with the gold, and fringed. The tail was also fringed. A big wobbly eye, and that's it. My DH thought I should put scales on the back too. I don't know - those fancy papers aren't so easy to punch.

OK, this is over the top clever! I can't believe all those circles!!! I don't think it's limited on the layers (LOL) but wow! For clever this takes the prize!
