An interesting trio of challenges. I'm a little behind, so I'm combining them. It almost didn't happen because of the ric-rack thing. I dug around in all my sewing stuff (haven't used it in so long, I couldn't remember what half of it was used for.) Surely there must be one piece of ric-rack. Good news-found one piece. Bad news- it's bright orange. Orange? Are you kidding me? What in the world would I EVER have needed this for? Halloween? It's a mystery.
So what do I do w/ orange ric-rack? I tried bleach. Didn't even fade the orange. It soaked up the bleach and laughed at me. Only one thing left. Big honking black magic marker. Nothing laughs at a permanent black marker.
So I stamped the images onto the s.sky w/ black ink. Since I already had the bleach out, I painted it on a few leaves (be sure to use a synthetic brush; bleach will eat natural bristles.) Then added some dots w/ the bleach and used a black marker to dot the center of the white spots. Edged w/ the marker and attached to kraft then black.
Stamped the sentiment and mostly cut it out and layered. Stamped one set of leaves onto the kraft, bleached a few and paper pieced the others. Used the frame created when you use the nesties to punch an oval to frame my leaves.
Added a die cut buckle to the (now) black ric-rack and put it all together on a s.sky card. Take that you ugly orange ric-rack! (That's the before color in the lower left corner of the pic.) TFL

What tenacity, Julie. You go, girl! I love all the steps involved with pullling together this fab card of yours! I've been sewing for I dont know how many years, but never ever did i purchase rick rack: I disliked then and I dislike it now, but with your unending search for the answer, I must say the transformation is nothing less than a major feat of unparalled pursuit. Having overcome all those difficulties, I see you were still able to create one winning card, that's for sure!
