This is my submission for IC132, in which we were to take our inspiration from the Acacia Catalog. There were so many wonderful possibilities I could hardly choose... but in the end, this is what I came up with. My inspiration piece can be seen here:
I was working today with my dh on a deck so had to fit this in when a precious few rand drops came. So I'm glad it was a simple card and went together very easily. I am pleased with it though, and I think this would be fitting for a guy card when I need one.
I ran the left half of my base of Not Quite Navy thru the Cuttlebug with the birds and swirls folder. Then I put Close to Cocoa ink pad direct to paper, followed by Ink it Up Copper Pigment Ink.
I stamped the image on creamy caramel with close to cocoa ink. I sponged the edges with close to cocoa and colored the image with Prisma Pencils and Gamsol. The very tiny centers of the flowers are done with a copper glitter gel pen.
The image is layered on a plain piece of Not Quite Navy, then a Shimmery Copper Piece.
The leaves are tan plastic do-dads that I dipped in VersaMark and heat embossed in Copper EP. Very quick... and done!
As always, thanks so much for looking!

I'm amazed that this was a quick card for you as it would have taken me all day LOL! Absolutely beautiful take on the challenge piece you chose, fabulously coloured and those doo dads, well, I thought they were twisted wire. What a great technique! A stunning card and I hope you're having a day off from decking work tomorrow.

This is so pretty - I like this bird image. You did a beautiful job coloring it! The leaves are beautiful and what a great idea to emboss them! Your card is lovely!
