This is my submission for TLC172... learn a new technique... the surprise pop up card. This was fairly difficult for me, mainly because of problems with the cutter I use, but I did get it done. One of the very last steps I'm now questioning, but if I decide to change that, it will just mean replacing the main image panel... at least the card itself is done to my satisfaction!
I followed the steps one by one and got the card constructed without too much difficulty. I then stamped my images... first the friendship stem flower from "The Fine Print"... centering it in the panel, then with my stamp a ma jig I stamped the floral border from "Itty Bitty Borders", leaving out the center one so the bigger taller one would stand out among the smaller ones. I stamped the sentiment with Brilliance Graphite Black, also using my stamp a ma jig to center it. I used SU! markers to ink the images. I decorated my images with stickles, and glued on a plastic flower which I then covered in stickles. I used a couple of die cut leaves from my cuttlebug dies to glue on leaves over the smaller stamped leaves. I sponged and watercolored the whole bg with a combination of the colors in the image, and this is where I'm not so sure I'm happy. I glued a halo of crystal glitter all around the biggest flower for added pizazz.... and as of the photo, that was not yet dry. Like I said, I might end up replacing that panel because I'm not sure until it dries whether I'm liking that or not.
This is a fun card... but time consuming!

Awesome! Love the color combo and dp. The plastic flower with stickles gives so much dimension. The pearls at the bottom are such a great touch! Beautiful job!

Fabulous work done on this beautiful slide card. I love the main panel and all the work that was involved in making it. I also like the DP and the sentiment.

Oh my goodness, Grace, just look at what you've gone and done today! Yikes, sounds like it took more of your time than you would have liked, but it's just so adorable. Love the papers you used and the pearls are just the perfect touch underneath the pop up! and just think, it is horribly hot today, so what else could you have done. As I see it, there are no options besides learning a new challenge! for you, that is, but certainly not for me. Last week's did me in for good. You rose to the occasion for this one, Grace!
