So! Todays challenge is to make a card to celebrate one of the following:
National Gardening Day
National Yo Yo Day
National Doughnut Day
June 6 is apparently a pretty important day for the aforementioned!
Sophie LaFontaine checked out the link that Beth provided on the challenge thread and shared with us that it is also Accordian Awareness Month!
So! In keeping with the theme...I decided to pay tribute to both gardening and the accordian (who doesn't love a good polka?!?!?) by creating some accordian flowers that I saw in a recent issue of Paper Crafts!!
I needed a quote incorporating both music and gardening and after searching around a bit at a few different quote sites and coming up empty (you would think Quote 'Garden' should have come through for me!) I decided to make one up!!! This is what I came up with....a little corny but kinda sweet just the same!!!
To make the flowers, start with a strip of 12'' paper (width depends on the size of flower you want, mine are about 1 3/4 and 3/4 of an inch)! Then just accordian fold the whole thing and attach the ends. You will need some sticky tape or glue dots to keep them 'flat'! Did I mention I got this idea from Paper Crafts?!?!
Happy Accordain Month!!
Happy Gardening Day!!
Thanks for such a fun and silly challenge, Beth!!!

Wow! You are not only a great card designer, but a great writer as well! That's a great sentiment, and yes, those are awesome accordian folded flowers!
