This is for the WT challenge to use packaging material in our card creation. I donÂ’t remember what my husband got this heavy almost cardboard material in a package with but he thought I might be able to use it for cardsÂ…well after a year or more and little push from Julia I found a reason for it. Love the way it looks as faux tooled leather.
IÂ’ll also make an envelope for it from the paper her got in a package today that is similar to the Stampin Up packaging paper which I have a ton of waiting to be used for envelopes.
I also use sponges from package material for ink distressing and like them better than purchased sponges.
-The Cuttlebug was used to emboss the tan, and then it was rubbed/direct to paper technique with distressing ink. I only embossed the outer edges to cut down on bulk for mailing. It has to be done in four steps. I go tot the extra trouble to save Keiki cards postage money.
-The black corner feature is also the Cuttlebug and the entire die cut is carefully lined up and attached to the card with single sided tape. Other strips are added to the bare corners and the center of the panel so the panel lies even on the card.
-The ticket punch was used on two of the corners.
-The funny sentiment was computer generated.
-The image is colored with Prismacolor pencils.
-Tool distressing is done on the packing material layer.
Accessories: Cuttlebug – Perfectly Paisley embossing folder, Vintage Corners die cut, double and single sided tape, Tonic paper perforator for tool distressing
Techniques: Tool distressing, direct to paper, dry embossing

LOL! This is too funny! I LOVE it! Love that sentiment and your "tooled leather" looks incredible! I also use sponges from packing material... much better results if you ask me! This is one awesome card!

Love your faux tooled leather look. Awesome job. Since most of the players took the other route today, it was nice to see some other packing materials used to make a card. Your coloring on the horse is fabulous!
