This was for Beate's BIC #15 - Blogs at Splitcoaststampers .
I wasn't going to do it, it totally did not inspire me. But then I remembered this Cosmo Cricket Dutch Girl paper a friend gave me, so that gave me a starting point. I cut a 6" square from it to include the full medallion motif, though I ended up trimming it down a bit.
I used Primas in the centre, popped up a bit on a few layers of felt, and a brad to fasten. I stamped 3 black paisley motifs and cut them out, and glued them in the corner along with another orange Prima.
I highlighted the centre of the medallion with Diamond Stickles.
A friend sent me some goodies yesterday, the chipboard bookplate (or whatever) was from that. I sponged it with ColorBox pigment ink in orange, but it was way too bright and strong, so I dabbed over it with Moss Green, and then since I was going to have to heat-set it anyway I used clear embossing powder. I stamped the sentiment on a small scrap of the DP, and then I ran some olive green ribbon in organza and a narrow satin one through it. I stuck these down with narrow DST, which is covered by the satin ribbon.
I made scalloped borders by using a long strip of a different sheet of Dutch Girl with the reverse side, and scalloped scissors. I sponged the top and bottom of the main card with Moss Green, and also the scalloped border. Finally I stuck the whole lot onto a 6x12 piece of Bazzill to end up with a 6" square card.
And I still liked it this morning!!
