I've seen some totally gorgeous cards in the gallery using this color combination before now, but I had a hard time figuring out what to use. I wanted to do Essence of Love but I wouldn't have been able to resist adding some Almost Amethyst in the color combo...I thought about doing a baby card but decided against it...I toyed with the notion of doing a Western theme card with Bareback, Wanted, or Bronc Buster but I thought that might be a popular idea with these colors and I'm a bit of a nonconformist. So there I sat, staring at my hundreds of stamp sets and totally clueless as to what to use, and finally Touch of Nature caught my eye.
Touch of Nature is one of those stamp sets that I wanted for a very long time, and then since I finally bought it, I haven't used it very much. What's up with that? Anyway, I thought it would work well with this old sketch challenge too (16 color challenges and 12 sketches and then I've done 'em ALL!). I sponged all of the Very Vanilla bits with some Sage Shadow ink; I wanted just a bit of green background behind the bird and then I just couldn't resist sponging the DP and the tags too The bird is watercolored VERY lightly with Chocolate Chip ink; I used So Saffron for beak and legs and Creamy Caramel for the twig.
