I made this card for today's way to use it challenge. The challenge was to use make a card using 1" squares. The smallest square punch I have is 1 1/4" so I hope this still counts.
This is also my very first attempt at making a card with real sewing. I've always wanted to try sewing on a card and this challenge was the perfect opportunity.
I used my 1 1/4" square punch to punch out the squares and then I placed them on the white layer of my card. Then I sewed along the seams with my sewing machine. That was a bit tricky for me because I wasn't sure what to do with the loose thread (you know the thread that is left once you are finished sewing), so I used a sewing needle to thread the loose ends back through a hole onto the back side of my card and then I taped them down.
I used some hodgepodge hardware and my ‘Tiny Talk’ stamp set for the sentiment. I sponged around my sentiment so that it wasn't so white. I just stamped 'for you' on my card because I thought then I could use it for almost any occasion (birthday, thank you, thinking of you...etc.).
Thanks for looking.

Great sewing job. That is alot harder than it looks. I love the colors. My favorite. You stitching is so even and straight. Love it when you combine sewing and cardmaking....
