I adore Michelle Zindorf's wonderful brayered backgrounds. Look at her wonderful tutorial: Brayered Sky Tutorials at Splitcoaststampers
It took me months to try something in her style - today I finally was brave enough!!!
Well, it's only my first humble attempt - nevertheless, I wouldn't have thought that I would be able to come up with something acceptable at all... I'll keep on practising!
My background is not brayered because I only have one of those giant hardware store-brayers made to color whole walls but not little pieces of art. I took instead my Blending Tool and my Adirondack inks I usually use with my Teykol resist technique. But I did the horizon masking like Michelle suggests it in her tutorial. After creating the background, I overstamped the image with StazOn Jet Black.
The staples I used to attach the ribbons are green and blue - the photo doesn't show that.

You have a real knack to using these black images with colorful backgrounds. I'm going to have to try it. I rarely touch my black ink pad! But you are inspiring me... love this one!

I love your cards that have the dark black and soft color behind or within. I think that sort of is your signature with a lot of your cards. I think it is beautiful. Great job on all these cards lately!! So nice to see!!
