It was Charlene's turn to host the The Double Dare challenge this week. She challenged us to pick a card from our own gallery and case it within these guidelines:
1. Pick one that after you made it, you said to yourself *What was I thinking?*
2. Change 2 or more things on the card to make it better in YOUR eyes
3. Keep the basic sketch you originally used
4. Use at least one color that you rarely use....not necessarily a color you don't like, just one that you don't use often
5. When you upload the card, provide a link to your *What was I thinking* card
Here is the card in my gallery I decided to case:IC118 Cuttled Quilt_je by joan ervin at Splitcoaststampers
What was I thinking...I added that ugly green bow right in the middle of the card as the main focus...ick!!
The things I changed include:
1. Changed the colors
2. Added the Pink Cat Studio image and added a scalloped layer under the image
3. Added the ribbon
4. Changed the color of the Dew Drops
There...much better!!
The color I used that I very seldom use was Gable Green. I used Fancy Corners cuttlebug folders on the white squares. The image was colored with copic markers and attached with dimensionals. TFL and all you mothers out there, have a wonderful Mother's Day!!

Joan- this is adorable! But then, I liked the original too! I love the CB bg and that lil bird is such a sweet image. High five on both accounts! LYMI

Joan, this little shopping hen is so cute and wonderfully colored, and I love those pretty spring colors! I have to disagree with you about your original card; I think it is very elegant and I love the flair of the beautiful bow!

Well leave it to Charlene to come up with something incredible like this! What was you thinking? I sure dunno, but whatever it was, it sure came out beautifully. Wonderfully delightful card, Joan. Really!!

This is just gorgeous Joan!!! Such a cute image, beautifully coloured!! Nice work with the embossing squares..mine have scared me so far.. it doesn't take much, does it?? Love all of the colours and love the colourful ribbon and your choice of paper colours!! Lovely card... and okay -maybe it's an improvement over the other - but I notice the other is fav'd 13 times!! So I'd say the first one was popular too!
