WT165 - chipboard. I went a bit overboard on this one. I tried to use shapes that I don't usually use - I love flourishes and frames and a lot of the Maya Road stuff. I also tried to use it in different ways.
So - the Cherry Arte leaf spray has been on my desk for a year now, since we moved, as it's too long really to work on most cards. I sprayed it with silver paint and sprinkled some green glitter over the leaves before they dried. Then I added silver Stickles up the stem.
For the flower (Creative Expressions, I think?) I painted the stem with dark green acrylic. I painted the centre of the flower with cream, and then stamped it with the sand from Shore Thing, using ColorBox Yellow Cadmium. For the outside flower I painted it with bright yellow, and then while it was still wet brushed a little cream towards the centre. Then I stamped it with a HA script stamp and Brilliance Sunshine Yellow, and clear embossed it.
I covered the butterfly with blue glittery paper and trimmed it. Then I brushed the raw edges with blue paint. Next I stuck some acetate on the back and trimmed it down. I used little gold peel-offs to fill the centres of the wings, and then coloured them with Sakura pens - Glaze for the wings and flowers, Stardust for the green leaves.
He has silver Stickles on his body and antennae.
Now I had a problem - if I used any patterned paper for the background it would take away from the butterfly wings. So away with all the options I had out, and out with Pretty Petals, Versamark and the EP again. I stamped *happy happy day!* up the side with Encore silver and silver EP.
Now the bottom looked a bit bare, so out with Unfrogettable, and I stamped 2 snails using scraps of Bazzill and BG, and more Encore silver and silver EP.
It is so not my usual style, but it got that piece of Cherry Arte chipboard used up, and I think I ended up with a happy cheerful card!
