I made this flower for my son's teacher. They are celebrating teacher week and each day they are doing something special for the teachers. Monday was to bring an apple, Tuesday was to bring a handmade card and today (it's 2:16am here) is to bring in one single flower. I thought I'd do something different. I'm sure most of the kids will bring in a real flower, so I decided to send in something that will definitely stand out.
I was kicking myself in the head for not having bought any of the chipboard (yet) to make flowers with. If there is will, there is a way. I used the peel and stick flowers from the Just Delightful scrapbook kit. I had a piece of cardboard that I got when I received my sons school pics in the mail. I just stuck them on and cut them out. I used dimentionals on each layer and held it together with a Yellow Rhinestone brad. I used Certainly Celery ribbon to make the leafy ribbons.
The stem was made from taping 3 small coated metal rods together held with a wrap around piece of sticky strip. I wrapped the ribbon around it to make the leafs, which perfectly hides the sticky strip
I sure hope the teacher will like it. What do you think?
Thanks so much for looking.

As the lucky recipiant of this cute flower, is was fun to get something reallly different. If it doesn't become a permanant part of my desk decor it will become a scrapbook element.
