For the DDC..
Charlene was the hostess today and here is her challenge:
Today YOU are the featured stamper. Go to your gallery and pick one of your own cards to case! Here are the challenge rules:
1. pick one that after you made it, you said to yourself *What was I thinking?* (I don't know about you, but I have lots of these in my gallery.)
2. change two or more things on your card to make it better in YOUR eyes
3. keep the basic sketch you originally used (minor alterations are okay).
4. use at least one color that you rarely use (this doesn't have to necessarily be a color you don't like; just one that you don't use often.)
5. when you upload your new card, provide a link to your *What was I thinking?* card.
I chose Blingy Bug..(Blingy Bug! - bc by beestamper at Splitcoaststampers) the card started well, but ended really bad.. The color I ususally don't use is only orange.. I just can't seem to make a card using this color without it ending up looking halloweenish.. I think my case is not much better than the original. I put stickles on the bugs dots, then managed to smear the palm of my hand across it and all over the card before I realized what happened...now, children were in close proximity so I nearly blamed them and was on the verge of maybe even using some obscenities.. but I remained calm.. I just picked up some more dp and tried to cover my mistakes.. and ended up making it worse by doing the same *&%$ thing!!! So, this is it.. I am done. I almost trashed it, but instead I am going to send it to Charlene.. it will be hers to do with as she sees fit.. secretly I hope she deconstructs the &*%$ card and makes something real pretty out of it! Thanks for looking.. I'm off to have a "happy hour!"

LOL. I love your explanation. It is even better than the card. It will be okay. What a great idea for a challenge. Now go have a cocktail and breathe. Tomorrow will be so much better. Thanks for sharing.

This is one of the cutest cards I've seen yet! Great job of casing your own case. And I agree, I do love this idea of a challenge! Gotta ask you one question though, how in the world do you manage to stamp with little people around??? Any time I have tried its been a complete disaster but we've had great fun!

LOL! Beverly, you are too funny! Know what else went wrong for you yesterday? You didn't use 5_6 for your keywords, so I didn't find your card until today when I went into your gallery. So be sure to edit that when you get a second, although that might be tough with little ones around.
Okay. Onto your card. I gotta tell ya: I love your original card and I love this one, too! Guess it just goes to show us that we are our own worst critics. I really like the cool doodling and colors on your first one, and I love the cutie pie dp and black scalloping around the ladybug in this one. It's definitely a cute, fun card, and I'll look forward to receiving it!!

Well, Bev., I am having happy hour as I type and laughing out loud at your trials over making this card! You are a hoot! I smear my cards all the time, but my kids are grown and gone, so I can't blame them. I love the changes you made. The happy cutie pie dp is wonderful with the precious ladybug!
I think they are both precious! I like all the doodling on the original!
