I made this card for one of my best friend's. They had to put down their old chow mix last Friday. I was inspired to use this layout from a dog card from Audreyann's gallery. I found the chow looking face online. The inside is a poem that was also thanks to a SCS member in a dog sympathy thread. It makes me cry just to read it! I hope that my friend is comforted by it. the dark brown on the card is a beautiful metallic. I put eyelets on the ribbon to resemble a dog color.
Poem
They will not go quietly, the pets whoÂ’ve shared our lives
In subtle ways they let us know their spirit still survives.
Old habits still can make us think we hear them at the door
Or step back when we drop a tasty morsel on the floor.
Our feet still go around the place the food dish used to be,
And, sometimes, coming home at night, we miss them terribly.
And although time may bring new friends and a new food dish to fill,
That one place in your heart belongs to Owen
Â…and always will.

What a beautiful card and sediment. I thought that the ribbon with the eyelets looked like a collar right away. I can't imagine life without pets in our lives. You are a good friend. Thanks for sharing your card and the reason for it's creation.
