Hi! This card was made for today's Color Combination Challenge: Pretty In Pink, Certainly Celery, and Lovely Lilac.
Well...I REALLY wanted to use my NEWEST rubbah, this beautiful Siberian Iris from Flourishes! I LOVE it!
When I was a child, Mother had garden of Irises. They were in the house in vases, in flower boxes on the porches, on the deck, the patio and they covered the back yard. It was like living in a Flower Shop! LOL!
Since today's is a color challenge, I had to do with what I had...I only added Whisper White and Basic Black, as they are acceptable neutrals. I had to create a new type/color of iris, as these colors do not occur in nature...
It's not the first time...I used to draw irises in Kindergarten, during art class. My teacher used to get angry when I would make the irises orange and black, or polka dotted! Right now, she's probably foaming at the mouth and composing one of her letters to my mother! LOL!
So, in honor of my mother, (and to the extreme duress of my Kindergarten Art Teacher), I made this card for Mother's Day.
The background for the scallop is stamped with Flourishes' Damask.
The scallops and circles were cut with my Nestibilities dies.
The flower was stamped twice in basic black and colored in with SU! markers. I went over areas MANY times to achieve the DARK contrasts. The center is cut and layered with a Wilton CAKE decorating FLOWER CENTER!!! WOW! I love it! in the center

Fabulous!! I am sure it will brighten your mom's day!! I love how fabulous your ribbons always look. I can never make them look right on my cards--especially big ones--on mine they always look so hideous!! You rock though when it comes to ribbons!!
