Well, this is the second welcome home card that I have made my friend Beth's husband Jason. He has just returned home from his submarine tour and I wanted to let him know how happy we are that he is back safe and sound. I had already made a card for Jason, using the double pocket card technique, but it disappeared in the mail!!! Here is a link to the first card that I made: TLC164 Double Pocket Welcome Home by smartblonde_2000 at Splitcoaststampers. Unfortunately, I don't have any more of the dp I used to make the first card and I could not re-create it. So, I made this patriotic card instead!
The large bg panel is whisper white cs that is matted with real red and night of navy cs. I stamped the Sanded bg on the whisper white with stamped-off navy ink. The wavy panel was made with my Creative Memories Circle & Banner Titletopia. The top layer is whisper white and is stamped with the star bg from Background Basics in real red ink. This layer was matted with real red and night of navy cs. The stars are night of navy with white embossed stars, real red with night of navy ink stars, and bordering blue with night of navy ink stars. I used my Fiskar's star punch to make the stars. Three of the stars have a silver brad in the center and are up on dimensionals. The sentiment was stamped with the retired Brushstroke Alphabet. I alternated stamping the letters with real red and night of navy ink. Finally, I added the silver brads in two of the corners, they seemed a little empty.
Hopefully this card will not disappear in the mail!!! Thanks for looking and have a great evening!
ETA: I forgot the link when I first posted, so I put it in!

Oops! It seems I had a serious blonde moment and forgot to put the link to my first card in my post. I have added it, it will just take a bit to update! Thanks for looking

Dorothy - you and a blond moment - I dont think so. How sad to learn your first card was lost in the mail, but I think Jason will really appreciate this one just as much: It's wonderfully patriotic, which I suspect he will really, really like. Glad Jason's tour is done and he's safely home. Great card, Dorothy!
