I started the Ways to use it Acrylics challenge first. I had these metallic paints, so I just made my background card using them. For the brackets, the silver was a bit bright to go with my hardware, so I mixed it with a bit of antique gold and then rubbed a bit of charcoal in. Then the colours reminded me of old wallpaper, so what better than to have these cats sitting reading in their library and have a go at the Wednesday Tutorial. I usually use watercolour pencils, so apart from the misting technique it's the first time I've tried colouring with markers. I am at the start of a learning curve. One thing I did discover was the amazing difference between 90lb and 140lb paper. I used the lighter weight first because it's what I use with pencils. Then I tried the heavier one, and OK it was artist's grade too, so that might have helped, and I still can't believe the difference. I know what I need to buy next time I'm in town, if I want to practice this technique. There will be a message under the hinged part of the card - just don't know who's getting it for what occasion yet.
